The Chili Cookbook

The Chili Cookbook is perfect for the fall season. There are chili recipes for  everyone, from vegetarian to meat lovers! The only thing this book is lacking is pictures for each recipe. I love to see what I'm cooking, however each recipe is detailed enough to make me excited to make it! If you live chili, this book is for you and will provide a new and exciting way for you to enjoy it!

Michael Symon's 5 in 5 for every season

I received my copy of Michael Symon's new cookbook before it even hit the shelves! I was looking forward to getting my copy because I have seen him on the chew and have also seen his other cookbook. I have to say the layout of the book is appealing however a lot of his recipes were not very appealing to me. I love the pictures in every cookbook, but I'm not sure I'll be making anything from this one. A little dissapponted from my point of view :(

The First Family Detail

"The First Family Detail" goes into details that the secret service reveals about the hidden lives of the Presidents. It's not what I was expecting out of the book. If you're looking for more of a gossipy type book, this is for you. It was interesting to learn some of the hidden facts but most of them aren't anything to be proud of. Although I highly respect the men and women of the secret service, I would not want their job of keeping presidential secrets like these. If you want to learn a little more about our presidents and secrets they have hidden than this book is for you!

Being a Dr Who fan, this is the first Dr Who book I have read. I was pleasantly surprised! A fast, intriguing read for any Dr Who fan!!! It captures the reader from the first to last page. Ill definitely be keeping these on my bookshelf!

Salsas and Moles

I don't really have any Hispanic cookbooks so I thought adding this one to my collection would be a good idea. It is filled with colorful pictures, and details. I love the fact that in the beginning of the book is a chart of all different kinds of peppers and the different level of spice. It really expanded my knowledge of peppers used in making salsa and mole. I didn't know there were so many different kinds! I'm looking forward to adding some apice to our next Mexican meal!

Milk Bar Life Review

I was really excited to receive this book a couple weeks ago! I was looking for something different than I would usually pick to review and it was exactly as I was hoping for. Milk Bar Life has an eccentric feel to it. Some very creative combinations in her recipes and definitely ones that I have never come across in other books such as her spaghettiO recipe. It has such fun pictures, that make you want to try her recipes. She seems down to earth and easy going. My kind of girl! Enjoy Milk Bar Life like I have, and cook up a feast!

Cookie Love: by Mindy Segal

Cookie Love is about mastering the classic dessert. Cookies! From the start of the book, Mindy takes you through the story of how she became a pastry chef and decided she wanted cookies to be her specialty. It started as a child for her and it's neat to see how she developed over time. Each recipe includes detailed step by step instructions on creating her masterpieces. Also included, are pictures of every cookie which I absolutely love. Then I know what I want to eat! Enjoy this book and make cookies like you've never made before!

Trisha Yearwood: Trishas Table Cookbook

I recieved Trisha Yearwoods newest cookbook a few weeks ago. "Trisha's Table" is much more than I expected. I love her down to earth attitude, and her love for her family is obvious. She shares stories for each recipe and where they came from. Most of the recipes have beautiful pictures as well, something I love in a cookbook! I would recommend this book for anyone who loves to cook. Easy recipes, easy ingredients and easy to eat :)

the Clean Slate cookbook

I recently received 'The Clean Slate' cookbook. I was totally drawn in by the fact that is from the authors of he Martha Stewart Food cookbooks that I absolutely love. I love any cookbook that shows pictures on almost every page and provides easy to read and easy to make recipes. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a way to have a healthier life style. Even though I am not into a lot of health foods, I see myself making a lot of these dishes in the future!

Food: A love story

Jim Gaffigan's "Food: A love story" is a must read for anyone who is looking for a ton of good laughs. This is not the first book I would probably pull of the shelf, but having heard some of Gaffigan's comedy routines, I thought I would give it a go. I have never laughed so hard reading a book! I had tears in my eyes in a couple chapters. From the humor he puts into each chapter, to his own personal stories, it truly keeps you entertained from front to back. The chapters are short enough to pick up and just read a few pages. I did find a few chapters filled with dry humor and didn't get me laughing but overall, I would give this book an 8 out of 10!
